Throw away incomplete downloads from a download manager

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

I use Speed Download for (nearly) all my downloads. It downloads to its own folder and sorts the files into sub-folders according to type (applications, documents etc.). There are times when the download is incomplete. I would like to have Hazel throw those partial downloads away after a certain time. At present however that option is greyed out as the folder is not the 'standard' download location. Is there a work-around? If not, could this facility be added to a future release?

I'll have to take a look at it and see. Not all applications give external cues as to whether it has finished downloading but I'll see what I can dig up.

Thanks.

In the case of Speed Download, incomplete downloads are given the extension .partial. Hope this helps.

That helps. Not sure when it will get in but it's in the feature db now.

In the meantime, you can write a rule yourself that does it. You would do something like "Extension is 'partial' and Date Added is not in the last X days -> Move file to Trash".
