Improve Hazel File Processing Speed

Hi everyone, I’m new to using Hazel and recently set it up to automatically organize my Downloads folder. The automation works great overall, but I’ve noticed that Hazel sometimes takes around 10–20 seconds to process and move files, even when the folder only contains about 10–15 items.

I’m curious if this delay is considered normal or if there might be something slowing down the process on my system. I’m currently using several rules for sorting files into different folders based on file type and name, so I’m wondering if that could affect performance. level devil - not a troll game

Has anyone else experienced similar delays with Hazel? If so, are there any recommended settings, optimizations, or troubleshooting tips to help improve processing speed? I’d appreciate any advice on making Hazel react and organize files more quickly.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Turn on debug mode as described here: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/hazel-debug-mode/

After that, check the logs by going to Help->View Logs. Make sure to record the name of the file that was supposed to be processed and the time it was supposed to be processed.
