How can I save a fillable PDF so that it cannot be edited after I have filled it out?

I know that printing it as a PDF is an option, but is there an easier or more efficient way to do this?

Iam curious if others have found a better method to ensure that their submissions remain unchanged.

Printing it might be the best way. You can look into Shortcuts or Automator to see if you can do it that way. Otherwise, there might be some commandline programs out there that might do that for you but don't know of any off the top of my head.
