Directory structure

Does anyone have a good example of a file structure for storing documents? I believe the correct term is ontology. But I don’t want to get hung up on terms. I just need a structure so all my documents have a place and it’s a structure that is meaningful so that I can find a document when needed. This is for personal use so nothing related to a business, etc is needed.

I think you need to be a lot more specific about what types of files you have.
