On my Mac, I like using Noodlesoft's Hazel program. I have not discovered anything that comes close. However, my Mac is dying, and I do not want to put it on my MacBook.

Any suggestions? Thank you very much.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Where are you expecting Hazel to run?
