Does Hazel work w/ Dropbox when using Apple's File Provider?

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

I recently switched to the new Apple File Provider version of Dropbox, but I'm having some trouble using Hazel with those files. It seems that when Dropbox is set to Online-only mode (as described below), Hazel isn't triggering the file download needed to examine its contents or metadata (such as image dimensions).

Any chance of making it work in Online-only mode or is it only going to work in Offline mode?

Online-only files don't take up hard drive space unless you open them. Available offline stores files on your hard drive.

Files have to be local on the filesystem for Hazel to process them.
