Rules Repository

Hi - Is there a community or noodlesoft driven rules repository where Hazel owners can search and download rules for all different sorts of workflows?

I'm thinking something in the line of http://www.packal.org/ for Alfred. I realize that we can search through the forum and find nuggets of rules sprinkled throughout, but in order to be effective at this type of searching a person usually has to have a problem or use case at first and search for solutions. In contrary, have a repository individuals can browser/explore already crafted solutions for problems I didn't know existed. The "oh snap, I didn't know we can do that with Hazel" moment.

Just a thought.

I've thought about such a thing for a while but for me to create and maintain it is a bit of work. For now, though, the forums and the web at large are the best places. You can search the knowledge base (https://www.noodlesoft.com/support) as I do link to articles others have written there.

I'd love if this idea happens at some point. It would be so great for us newbies.

It would be useful if the GUI provided a way to copy an individual rule to JSON (which could then be pasted to the forums, allowing other users to import it).

It seems the most common way of sharing rules on the forums right now, is just pasting screenshots of Hazel, which is not ideal

The Keyboard Maestro forums use a different software for their board (Discourse, maybe?) and it allows the uploading of screenshots and macro files.

This software does support uploads but I disabled them as there's been constant issues with spambots. I do have the spambots under control now since I do have to approve every first post from new users (which is a manual process) so maybe I'll consider re-enabling them.

That would be great, Mr Noodle! 1+ from me!

I would also like to see a library with workflows. This could be a huge improvement for hazel and the users.

Maybe its possible to ask long time members to moderate this library with or for you. So the community can help and you have less work to do. Give it a try and if it wont work you can cancel it again.
