No issues about macos 26 Tahoe?

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

Hi,
I find it surprising that at this point no one has commented on the macOS 26 Tahoe public beta or if they've encountered any issues.

For me, it's working fine, but I haven't tested much.

Hazel does not seem to be running at all for me, the past beta's have been fine, but this last update changed that.

Can you provide more details? What isn't working exactly?

Actually...

I'm currently running the developer release, 26.0 Beta (25A5349a), and Hazel 6.0.4. The only issue I am seeing is that the drive icons in the Finder sidebar are being changed to resemble the Hazel broom. The test machine is a Mac Studio M1 Ultra.

I created a new user, and the sidebar drive icons were standard macOS images. I launched Hazel for this user for the first time, and the drive icons changed for all external drives. The Mac internal drive icon remains unaffected.

That is a pre-Tahoe issue. You can disable Hazel's Finder extension to fix it. Go to System Settings->General->Login Items & Extensions.

Look for "Hazel - File Provider" under Extensions and disable it.

Thanks. It just so happens I discovered that solution myself this morning.

I have a Hazel rule that applies a Tag to newly created folders on the Desktop. With Tahoe, the circular tag appears, but the folder itself does not assume the color of the tag. In the Finder settings, Tint folders based on tags is turned on.

I have another Rule that changes the Tag after about 15 minutes. At that time, the color of the folder itself does change.

Are you using Add Tags or Set Color Label?

It happens that initially I use Color Label. Then the colored tag appears but the folder color does not change.

In another context, I use Add Tag with a color here. That does change the overall color of the folder.

So in my testing, if I use Set Color, then the folder gets a colored tag, but the folder itself does not change color. If I use Add Tag, then it gets a colored tag, but also the entire folder changes color.
