copy filename to comments then rename

Hi. Newb here just about to purchase a Hazel licence. Before I do, could anyone confirm that it will support my usecase. I have ~30,000 files that need to be renamed to suit a new naming convention. I would like to copy the existing filenames to the comment field before renaming so that I can easily relate the files to another database which will retain old filenames. Assuming this is possible, I would also appreciate any guidance on the most efficient way to do this (or suggestions for alternate approach if there are better ways to do this). I'm running Monterey 12.7.6 but can also run in Windows 10 if required (its an old Intel powered Macbook Pro). Thanks in advance.

I suggest running the trial and doing so on some test files before setting them loose on all 30k. Also, good backups are always recommended.
