Hazel is using an external hard drive that I can't remove.

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

Hello

Hazel isn't working well with external hard drives right now. I want to remove the rules and folder and eject the disk after Hazel has finished its work. However, Hazel continues to use it, and it's never a good idea to force remove a drive. So what should I do in this situation?

I am using a Mac. Is it possible to force Hazel to stop down entirely, similar to a Force Quit?

Did you remove the folder from Hazel's folder list? Have you rebooted?

I have a workflow that requires often connecting and disconnecting local drives via USB and I ran into the same issue of Hazel not letting go of the drive when using the Finder to eject it.

I created an automation with a shell script using Keyboard Maestro:
Code: Select all
diskutil unmount "$KMVAR_YourVariableNameoftheUSBdriveHere"
