Import to photos only if photo library connected

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying Hazel - I tried the trial a while back but didn't really find any uses for it in the time I had it installed, but since then I've been coming across more and more things where it would make my life easier.

One use case that I haven't been able to work out if it could work for though is this. I have my Photos library on an external drive for space reasons. But often I may be editing a photo without that library connected and will save the photo to a folder and then have to remember to import it into photos later.

Can I use Hazel to watch that folder, wait until my external drive with my photos library on it is detected and then import all the photos in that folder when that happens? I can't work out if you can set external conditions to actions or not?

Thanks.

If you have Hazel monitor a folder on an external drive, it should handle it automatically. If it's disconnected, of course, it won't work, but if you connect it, it should start working after that.
