Idle indication needed somewhere?

Postby jwiede » Thu Sep 27, 2007 2:37 pm

Love Hazel, but sometimes it can be a bit hard knowing precisely when it has completed running the current operation -- particularly when you're deliberately running complex and recursive rules on large filesets.

1. Can there be some indication of Hazel's operational status in the pref pane, for folks who don't want to have it in the menu bar?

2. Can the states include "idle" or similar, when Hazel is "running" but not actively running any rule checks at that moment?

Thanks!

The running state is more whether Hazel is monitoring at all. I feel a visual indication of whether Hazel is doing something at the moment would be distracting. If you are concerned about a specific run, you can always view the log or use Growl to let you know what it's doing. If that doesn't cover what you need, maybe you can describe why you'd need this.
