Hi all,

I'm newer to Hazel and had a question.

Weekly I receive a batch of files that I have to sort into various folders.

Hazel is perfect for this task.

As I set up my rules I see some options in the move action that I am unsure of their effect.

There are three rules in abutton format:
rename the file
replace the existing file
throw the file away

Am I correct in saying these rules all apply to the file I am moving?

Then what does the rule below do: The checkbox saying "Throw Away if a duplicate" Will that throw away the file at that location?

Yes, they apply to the file that is being moved. While editing a rule, click on the ? button in the lower left to bring up the help. You should find an explanation there for the move and copy actions.
