Managing browser cookies?

Talk, speculate, discuss, pontificate. As long as it pertains to Hazel.

Has anyone tried to use Hazel to delete or otherwise manage browser cookies? For example, could you use Hazel to delete cookies from a particular site (e.g. Facebook) on a regular schedule for privacy reasons?

Just wondering...

Most cookies are managed by the browser and I would recommend against having Hazel manipulate those directly. This is assuming that the cookies are stored as individual files in the filesystem, which may not be the case. I suggest instead looking for some sort of browser extension that does this from within the browser, if possible.

I've noticed a few cookie managers on MacUpdate, some with harsh comments, but have never used one so am unqualified to make a specific suggestion.

Thanks. I use Ghostery and AdBlock but sometimes I find they don't delete cookies promptly.
