Can Hazel Do This? Mon Aug 27, 2012 9:21 pm • by texaswj
I heard about Hazel on Mac Power users and it sounds amazing!

I wanted to know if I could make a Hazel rule that would look at my emails, and when it sees a attachment, it moves that attachment into the appropriate client folder in Dropbox.

I realize that I might have to make a bunch of rules but that is ok, I would rather do that then search thousands of emails for the attachments later.

My Dropbox is set up this way: Clients, Client Name, Attachments.

So I want Hazel to see the clients name in the subject line, and then move the attachment 3 folders deep.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Hazel can only deal with attachments when you've opened them already such that Mail puts them in its Mail Downloads folder. To get it to that point, you need to do something with Mail's rules and possibly some AppleScript.

Once you get it in a folder which Hazel can access, you can try checking the "Where froms" to get to the subject line.
